Important Notes

• Prospective students who apply to our priority rounds will be waived from the application fee ($130) and will have the opportunity to receive a two-week expedited admissions decision.
• For priority consideration of merit-based scholarships, applications must be submitted by the Round 2 deadline date. Applications that are submitted after Round 2 may still be considered pending available funds.
• Applications must be submitted online and require a $130 non-refundable application fee. The application fee will be waived for applicants who apply to our Fall Priority Round, Fall Round 1, and Spring Priority Round.
• International applicants who are not currently in the U.S. and will need a student visa must apply no later than our Round 2 deadline date. We encourage international applicants to apply earlier in the application cycle to facilitate visa arrangements.

Standardized Tests

Standardized tests (e.g., GMAT, GRE, EA) are a component of the application process and play an important role in the holistic evaluation process of any academic program. Considering challenges brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, for the 2022-2023 admissions cycle, standardized tests are optional for all MBA and specialized masters (MS) programs.

Applicants who do not submit a standardized test (e.g., GMAT, GRE, EA) are welcome to submit 'Other' supporting evid ence to bolster the strength of their application (no more than 5). While each academic program is unique and has distinct requirements, examples of supporting evidence include s, but is not limited to, the examples below; all of which may assist the Admissions Committee in evaluating an applicant’s fit and readiness for graduate business studies.

• Proof of prior knowledge/experience in a subject matter deemed relevant by the program to which you are applying (e.g., computer programming languages [Python, R], statistics, etc.).
• Industry certifications such as CFA, CPA, CAP, PMP, PHR, PE, or Six Sigma.
• Standardized exams like the MCAT or LSAT.
• Non-degree coursework such as completed MOOC certificates (e.g., Coursera, edX), MBAMath, micro-masters/nanodegrees, or advanced certificates.

If you choose to submit an official GMAT or GRE test score as part of your application, you will need to add your test score information under 'Standardized Test' in the Academic History section. You will also be required to send your official test scores to the Gabelli School of Business Graduate Admissions Office.

Standardized Testing: English language proficiency

Applicants will need to provide an English-language test score from TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test (DET), or PTE Academic if English is not their native language, unless: (1) you’ve earned an undergraduate or graduate degree at a U.S. college or university, (2) your education was completed exclusively in English in an English-speaking country; view the list of countries accepted, or (3) you received an undergraduate or graduate degree from a university in India (In some cases, we may request language proficiency test scores).

The Gabelli School of Business considers English language proficiency test scores to be valid for up to two years from the term of entrance and must be valid at the time you submit your application.

We reserve the right to evaluate an applicant’s English based on an admission interview and an ESL test prior to the start of classes. Based on the results from either or both, English language courses may be required as part of the Gabelli School curriculum.

Academic Transcripts

Applicants applying to any of the Gabelli School of Business graduate programs are required to hold a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or an equivalent degree from a foreign country (in some cases, this is a three-year degree). If you are submitting your application during your last year (senior year) of your undergraduate program, we will accept and evaluate your application with a copy of your in-progress transcript (all completed terms at the time must be included).

At the time of applying, we require you to upload unofficial transcripts from the institutions where you earned your bachelor’s or master’s degree including any institutions where transfer credits counted toward either an undergraduate or graduate-level degree. If an offer of admission is made, you will need to send us your final official transcript with final grades and degree conferred from your undergraduate university/college prior to the first day of class.

Academic Credentials Verification: Applicants whose undergraduate or graduate studies were taught in a non-United States university are also required to submit an official transcript evaluation of their undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Exceptions are made for institutions in Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. We will accept evaluations from World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), or any NACES organization member.

If offered admissions and your college or university releases transcripts through a secure electronic site such as National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment; you can order an official copy of your transcript to be emailed directly to [email protected] .

Essays

• Essays are an opportunity for applicants to express themselves in areas that may not have been reflected in other portions of the application. Please select one of the three following essay questions and answer in essay format. Essay Question 1: At the Gabelli School of Business, we expect students to be active and engaging within their communities as leaders for positive change. Please share an experience you had that caused you to alter a point of view, develop a new perspective, and/or empowered you to take action or be courageous. Please include examples of your personal growth (e.g., what did you learn, what new strengths or skills were developed here, and how did it make a difference in your community?). Essay Question 2: Fordham University is a Jesuit university grounded in the tenet of cura personalis, which recognizes the dignity, uniqueness, and potential of each person. A Fordham education is student-centered and rooted in close collaboration among the Gabelli School campus community; including students, faculty, and staff. Describe how you would contribute to our campus community as an actively engaged learner and future business leader. Specifically draw on your personal story, identity, experiences, strengths, and perspectives. Essay Question 3: Our motto is “New York is my campus, Fordham is my school.” New York City is a diverse and global business hub that provides Gabelli students with a special kind of educational experience, full of both challenge and opportunity. What has prepared you to embrace the unique opportunity of living and learning in New York City? Optional Essay: Use this essay to share information that is not presented elsewhere in your application, e.g. explanation of employment gaps, academic aberrations, quantitative abilities, etc. (150 word limit)

Admissions Interviews

Admissions interviews are an important component of our comprehensive and holistic evaluation process. Applicants will be considered by our admissions committee for an interview after submitting an application. Interviews are a required part of the application if invited by the Graduate Admissions Office and applicants are strongly encouraged to sign up for an interview as soon as you receive the initial invitation. The admissions committee may also render a decision without an interview if it feels that it has sufficient information to do so.

Here are a few notes about the admissions interview:

• Interviews are conducted by members of the admissions staff, faculty members, current students, or alumni.
• Applicants should prepare for a 25- to 30-minute interview.
• Interviews are offered on select days throughout the week on a space-available basis. Interviews should be scheduled at least ten (10) days prior to the date you would like to interview.
